First Day of Work!

So I know it's been forever. And I'm so sorry- but life at the West household has been crazy! First Becca and Britt came to visit. Then Robert and I basically spent the next week and a half in Breckenridge with Aunt Bev, Uncle Coy, Aunt Carri, Tommy, and Ellie. It was awesome. We were totally spoiled. We hiked, fished, played tennis (Aunt Bev totally smoked Robert, which was awesome to watch), played Rumikub (best game ever), and ate so much food. Robert and I are so blessed to have such hospitable family. They totally let us crash their vacation. Here are a few pictures from the hike Robert and I went on!

Yeah we totally climbed that waterfall...
And then there was the first day of work... which was, well... long. But I am really excited for the next couple of weeks. I am working with an awesome group of people who are all really encouraging and want to help me learn.

Robert even made me breakfast on the "You are Special" plate. I love him.

Here is my first day of work outfit...

Mom and Dad are coming on Thursday!! CAN'T WAIT!

Love y'all!

VisitorsA

I cannot even tell you how good it is to see familiar faces.
And to go on awesome hikes with them.
And conquer mountains.

I hope this weekend never ends.

Symphony on the Rocks!

So I found this thing called Symphony on the Rocks online... it was free so obviously we were all over that. The Colorado Symphony Orchestra was playing at Red Rocks Amphitheater... hence Symphony on the Rocks. We were excited to go (ok I was way more excited than Robert), but it turned out to be so much greater than we expected!

This was driving up to Red Rocks... So beautiful!
Here we are waiting for the concert to start!
This is Red Rocks! They literally carved seats out of the rocks.
Here is the orchestra playing!
Awesome night... we had a great time! And even better- Robert got an interview today with a roastary company! (The ones who roast the coffee beans) We are so excited... such a blessing. The Lord has provided for us in so many ways- we really can't believe it! Plus we found Champion Bloodline AKC English Mastiff puppies for $350- we are hoping to snag one. And hey- don't look up English Mastiffs and freak out because they are huge and won't fit in our apartment.

1. It will fit.
2. They are great apartment dogs- we have done an excessive amount of research.
3. We want a big dog.

In conclusion, we really hope we get one.

Love y'all!

The Fourth

We had a wonderful first Fourth of July as a married couple! Woke up, went to church, came home and had lunch, then a crazy hail storm hit. We're talking golf ball sized hail people. At first, we were a little nervous about the cars, but no worries- they are fine!

Then we had planned with some friends to go up to Green Mountain, which looks over the entire city of Denver to watch the fire works! It was going to be oh so beautiful and fun! But of course, it started pouring, which was a bummer. But then we went to our friend's friend's house (does that make sense?). They were really nice and we could see a really good firework show from their backyard! We played darts and hung out and made more friends! YAY!

Tonight we are going to Symphony on the Rocks, which is a free concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater. It is supposed to be beautiful! I will take pictures and post them tomorrow!

On another note- only two days until Bec and Britt get here! Wednesday come sooner!

Camping Trip

So Robert and I went camping for our first time last night. There were definitely highs and lows of the trip.

Lows:
You had to drive 6 miles on a dirt/gravel road to get there.

There was NO running water so the bathrooms were sick.

No firewood for sale at the campsite.

It rained 80% of the time- including the entire night.

I had to pee in the middle of the night- shamelessly I did so 2 feet away from our tent praying no one could see me. I was not about to walk to the bathroom/woods in the dark.

Highs:
First we went to Boulder and met up with my old roommate Kim and her husband Chase. It was so great to see them! And we had really good food/coffee/beer. (Note: this is pre-camping)

It was sunny while we ate dinner.

We got to go on a hike.

Our tent was awesome. (Thanks Becca and Drew!)

A nice camping neighbor let us have some of his firewood after watching us try to start a fire with some sticks for half an hour. We looked pathetic but it turned out great!

Overall, fun trip. We will definitely be more prepared next time :)
